How can therapy and medication help with depression?
Depression is more than feeling sad. It can drain your energy, change your sleep and appetite, and make it hard to enjoy anything. It is one of the most common health conditions, and one of the most treatable.
We'll take time to understand what you're going through and what may be contributing to it. Together we'll choose a plan, which may include talk therapy, medication or both, and we'll keep adjusting until you start to feel like yourself again.
- Medication management. Antidepressants can help many people. We'll explain your options, start carefully and follow up to see how you're responding.
- Talk therapy. Work through the thoughts, habits and life stresses that keep depression going, and rebuild routines that lift your mood.
- Both together. For moderate to severe depression, therapy and medication together often work better than either alone.

If low mood, loss of interest or the signs above last most days for two weeks or more, it's worth getting an evaluation.
How long does treatment take to work?
Many people feel some improvement within a few weeks of starting therapy or medication. We'll check in regularly and adjust the plan if needed.
